  1. Yeah it is, I had to google info as I was reading his/ her response Thanks!
  2. Ok thanks for the guidance! I’m quite jealous of your plant knowledge, I need to up my game pics of a few of my tanks just because lol
  3. Had to read that a few times to process all that lol. Lots of info I didn’t think to include with my original question, so the stems don’t rot at the base, it’s happens halfway up. Not sure if it helps but I am able to grow AR mini easy green dosage varies per tank, I have a platy tank that they breed so much I only dose once a week. Other tanks are more lightly stocked and I dose once or twice a week, could probably do more frequently as some tanks stay right around 0 nitrates
  4. Kh is 120, ph 7.6. I’m sure it’s possible the sand has filled the gaps, but I do have a number of other stems that are doing well. Ambulia, pearlweed, rotala rotundifolia, bacopa, myrio, pogomon stella, to name a few….and it’s consistent over 12 different tanks. Only the red stems struggling
  5. Looking for some suggestions on what I may be doing wrong please. I have a number of planted tanks and have been successfully growing a large number of plants but really struggling with red stem plants such as different types of ludwigia, rotala hra. The stems continue to rot and the plants slowly die off. All tanks are low tech, and I have several different lights from hygger to led flood lights, using easy green and Coop root tabs. Substrate in all tanks is eco complete with sand on top. Wondering if it’s an iron deficiency?
  6. I was there right after the holidays after attending a fish swap, it is huge! Unfortunately stock on fish and plants was so low due to timing. I’m planning on going back again to see it again….they did have some types of rocks I want to use for aquascaping as well
  7. I’ve been watching my peacock gudgeons and hoping I’m getting food the fry can eat in for them. Not sure but looks like mom might have eggs again, dad waiting in his cave for her
  8. Discovered tonight my gudgeon spawned, I suspected the male was on eggs as I had not seen him in a week or so. But did wonder if he died and I just didn’t find the body. Anyway, suggestions on feeding the fry? I have heard it takes a few days before they are big enough to eat baby brine shrimp….would rephashy powder work?
  9. I’m familiar with that store and have the same thoughts, totally not impressed. I have seen some nice fish at Tropical Lagoon, House of Tropicals has a big selection. Although I have lost a few of the fish I bought there over the weekend. And surprisingly Petco in Frederick seems to take pretty good care of their fish. Curious what other feedback you get
  10. Welcome to the forum! Others will know better than I, but I find the same with my nitrates level. I believe a sign of plants growing well. I have to dose easy green 2 or 3 times a week for some of my tanks, or do a water change as my water comes out at 20ppm
  11. Agreed, those guppies are amazing! I’ve been scoping out guppies for my next tank. Pics of a few of my tanks for fun
  12. I’ve been playing around with the hardscape in a 5 gallon betta tank and a 20 long for some peacock gudgeons. Here’s a pic of the soon to be betta tank
  13. Welcome to the forum! I enjoy seeing those types of fish in groups larger than 2.
  14. Hi all, excited to join the forum and to share a few pics of my new fish room I have been building. Really enjoying getting in to planted tanks and hoping to develop better skills
