  1. They will eat minimal amounts of shrimplets. Those that are from the wholesalers I buy from are captive bred. I would honestly buy a minimum of 3/ gallon as they have a low bioload and a high number will make them more visible. They are one of my favorites.
  2. Update: He passed away. I am irritated. I raised him from pea size to 7 inches tall and I could’nt save him.
  3. I have started force feeding him with a syringe. He still has vigor so I will just keep doing 25% water changes daily and see if he can recover.
  4. A new development. His one side is turning purple like he is bruised. Maybe that means internal bleeding?
  5. The angelfish's swim bladder is getting worse. It now cannot help but float on its side at the top. I have tried Kanaplex, Metro, Furan 2, paracleanse, and Levamisole. I have fasted it for a week and done epsom salt baths. Nothing is working.
  6. He did not have the swelling or the swim bladder issues the other day so that is why I think they are connected.
  7. I noticed one of my manacapuru angelfish was breathing hard and swimming at a downward angle. He has a bit of swelling in the center of his body on both sides. Looking at scalar anatomy this is where the swim bladder is. I quarantined him and dosed furan 2 as I assume he might have an infected swim bladder. Has anyone ever experienced this? I recently treated 2 wild caught angels in the same tank for what looked like an early external hexamita infection. I will chexk to see if it is safe to mix furan 2 with metro.
  8. Oscars or personable puffers (Spotted congo, Fahaka, Mbu, ect.)
  9. Would it be possible for L134 plecos to spawn fry and have them survive without intervention in a densely planted 180 gallon aquarium? Most of the tank is densely covered with plants that are 8” to 16” tall with big leaves. There are lots of pleco caves and cholla wood under the foliage with no predators that can penetrate it. I currently have 5 unsexed L134s and I simply want to increase their population rather than selling them.
  10. These only became available in the last few years due to the lower level of war in the congo. They are being bred in captivity now for profit. I’m sure they will become available in AUS within the next few years. They are basically the perfect community puffer.
  11. Get a schoutedeni puffer. They are like 200$ but in my experience are not aggressive and are only 3 inches. They are like a swimming chicken nugget with puffer personality.
  12. Rainbow Emperor Tetra are my favorite looking individual tetra.
  13. At my city apartment maracyn kills my bb but at my dads country house it does not. I have to quarantine at my city appt most times so I use Furan 2 for the first week and then after a 70% water change dose ick x and paraclense/ general cure for the second. Furan 2 in my experience has never killed BB but does kill plants.
  14. 400 gallons with with 30 Rio Nanay or Manacapuru angelfish as the centerpieces.
  15. I have bought from Aqua Huna alot but their water is soft and sensitive fish like Rummy Nose have massive casualties when they transition to hard. Also 3 day shipping seems to massively increase casualties vs UPS overnight. I currently have best success with imperial tropicals in Florida but Rummynose are 4$ each and they only stock <100 at any one time.
  16. No, I am in the midwest. There aren’t any operations around here where I could have fish shipped in to a local lfs. I want to handle the quarantine myself.
  17. Hello, I like putting tons of tiny fish in massive aquariums. Does anyone have recommendations/experiences with vendors when purchasing large amounts of tiny fish at a time? I am currently paying about 4$/ per cardinal or rummynose tetra and I would like to cut that cost significantly. I found a vendor in California called Uncle Sams Discus and Wholesale that offers 500 Rummy Nose for 350$ Which seems insane. I can’t find many details or reviews about their wholesale side of business. My water is moderately hard but I haven’t found any bulk sellers in Florida.
