My air loop system is attached on the wall near the ceiling. An important thing to remember is to keep the air line & pump above the highest water line on your tanks.
Has anyone ever experienced or heard of stray electrical current or voltage in an aquarium from and exposed wired or a heater or other electrical source? Is it worth installing a grounding probe ?
Shout out to Zenzo for his quick and easy tip on placing root tabs. Poke a small hole in one end of the root tab with a tack. Then gently squeeze the air out while root tab is submerged. This will prevent it from floating. Then place root tab in a desired location in substrate. Easy Squeezy !
If it’s a 10 gallon tank the sponge filter should be plenty depending on the number of fish (bio load). Just keep an eye on nitrates, nitrites and ammonia.
There’s something fishy around here. I’m an active aquarium collector & fish rescuer who also loves other aquatic critters. I love providing new homes for fishes, plants and other aquatic inhabitants. Love nature in its simplest form. You’ll find me sitting in my *my happy place 😁 Offish/Fishroom or sitting by and outdoor pond or stream.

Water change about 30-40% every 10 days or so. I use about 3 or 4 root tabs around the plant once a month. Easy green once every 2weeks for Java ferns and anubias. Don’t know my perameters off the top of my head.
If you’re patient enough and look in the right places (FB marketplace, OfferUp, Craigslist add Nextdoor) you can acquire and size tank that you want. I’ve picked up about 50 tanks (some full set ups) in the past 12 months for my Offish-Fish Room.
Thank you for replying. I’ve had the sword plant in the tank for about a year. For a long time it didn’t do much as far as growth. When I added root tab fertilizer it took off. I got the plant from another local aquarists.
