  1. I have cherry shrimp and Red Rili shrimp in my white cloud tank and they seem to do fine together. In fact they don’t even pay attention to each other. White Clouds have smaller mouths then other fish too so they wouldn’t be able to eat them unless if they are very small.

That is so cool! Adorable to boot! I love that he's scaled with a pond snail. 😛

I love the name of the tank. I am a Witcher fan, so I put a twist on it... and I would totally name that little pygmy Ciri if it's a girl or, Duny, if it's a boy. However the male name could be a few others, but I won't spoil anything.

    I love the names thanks!

If there were other species of fish, I would recommend to take him out, but if there are only pygmy cories, I would say he is fine, especially if there are lots of hiding spots. If the eggs survived, the fry are sure to as well! Just remember to make sure he's getting enough to eat. Also, I don't know if this is true (I've never bred pygmies before), but I've also heard that pygmy cories are some of the only cories that don't eat their fry. I hope this helps!

I have White clouds and they were chasing it around so I’ll put it in my breeder box and keep it there until it grows a lot bigger. Thanks!@CorydorasEthan😁

@Taco Playz your GBRs are very beautiful fish. If you bring in a male, he’ll probably pair off with one female pretty quickly. Occasionally females fight. If you have some private spaces in the tank, the pair will select a suitable place to spawn.

Thanks! I'm on the way to the store to pick up a Male right now so I'll see how it goes.

^^^This is correct. These are GBRs. They are both females.

    Bolivians look like small Geophagus…

Darnit, I was hoping to breed them and I can’t take them back to the store. Do you think I could do a 1 M   2 F or would that not work. Thanks

These are German blue rams not Bolivian rams to start. Sorry but the fishstore was not correct in their ID and sale of these 2. I will let @Fish Folkhelp with sexing.

That’s what I thought initially and I asked the store owner and he said they were Bolivian. So I was very confused. Thanks

  6. So I was at my pet store and picked up 2 Bolivian rams. I thought I got 1 M and 1 F but I don’t know now because I read that males don’t have pink bellies but this one has a pink belly and has all the qualities of a male. I’ll try to attach photos of the other one but there is so much leaves that It’s hard to get a good photo.

They have also chased each other once from what I’ve seen.

The internet said that males have blue sheen which this one has, they had the black top fin which this one has, but it has a pink belly which is really confusing me. The other fish doesn’t have the blue sheen but it also has the pink belly.

I been reading that snails eggs are put outside water but this ones are inside are this eggs

That's normally Mystery Snails that lay eggs outside of the water. Those eggs look like bladder snail eggs or Ramshorn snail eggs.

Looks good! Like your usage of leaves--gives off "river bottom" vibes.

If you're thinking about breeding GBR I recommend lowering the water a smidgen more, to about 6.5 pH, you'll also want to have a flat rock for the female to lay the eggs on (they're not so intrigued by "spawning mops" like Goldfish and some others are)

GBR are fine but I notice they tend to have lots of health issues, sickly, prone to ick, etc.... (prior LFS employee here, worked at a store not too far from Co-Op)

If you want to intermingle with GBR you should do small schooling fish, like smaller tetras that are quick (thinks neons, Glowlight). Try to avoid any fin nippers like Serpae tetras, Black Skirt, etc...

You want small fish that will avoid the rams for it to work out for the better, but you have a decently planted tank already! I think you'll be good.

Thanks so much for the tips! I’ll try to find a flat rock because my LFS has a good selection. I might wait until the ph gets lowered for them too.

    Have a good day!

  9. So my tank that’s eventually going to be a breeding setup recently got setup and I’m fairly happy with it. I still think it’s missing a few things. Please comment give suggestions on fish. It’s a ten gallon and I was thinking about just a pair of GBR but I didn’t know how that would do in a ten gallon. Comment if you think that would work out. Thanks

Yes I will be taking the two blue pieces of gravel out because they are really annoying me. 😂

Also I lowered the ph to about 7.0 now so that’s good.

It seems your ammonia is too high this is a problem I have to watch out for in my blackwater tanks.

To breed blackwater fish, your best course of action would be to use RODI water, the RODI water I use has a pH of 6.0.

Boiling Oak leaves may release the tannins sooner, but is unnecessary, just drop the leaves on top of the water and they will sink after a couple of days and release tannins. Since you know what an Oak tree looks like, go back and pick up some of the limbs that have fallen off of the tree, they don't have to be very thick, but they'll release tannins also and mine look better than any Mopani wood or Driftwood I have.

So brown water on the tester means high ammonia?

It was darker earlier I tested about a hour ago.

Now that I put it under the light it looks lighter.

  11. My ph in different tanks differs. For an example in my White Cloud tank the ph is 5.6. Then it goes to this tank which it is 8.0. Also I tested the Ammonia in the 10 gallon and the water turned out brown. I was thinking it was because of the tannins but I had no idea.
