  1. I realized that my signature links go back to the first post for each. This would be annoying for anyone who has already read anything. I tested adding this to my signature links, and it seems to work. It needs a ‘/‘ before it, which my links already had.

    Don’t quote me.

I was previously copying from the first post, which might be right for a FAQ, but not necessarily a journal.

In testing, I noticed that @R Budds documented how to copy those links! I just took a guess from the unread posts link.

I would recommend this edit for signatures.

  2. @sweetpoison, there are some of us on the forum who run organic soil tanks. There is not a fixed recipe, but I recommend reading Diana Walstad for some good information.

If you choose Miracle Gro, just make sure to get the organic formula, and nothing with Pearlite, or anything for ‘moisture retention’. I found a local composter where I can get soil for a dollar per scoop.

I prefer a gravel cap over sand. Plant heavily from the start.

  3. I haven’t had a chance to take photos or videos of my Askoll Pure system, since I’m currently running the tank with a different setup. I did do a search, and there are some videos:

I still have not met anyone else in forums or chat who has one of these. I really liked the whole setup and filter, but I pulled it to upgrade my lighting. I might try to fit my 3.0 into it someday.

  4. @nabokovfan87, have you tested those 3D-printed Nano mounts for rimmed tanks? I commissioned the design but still have not tried them.

@Kevin2022, I tested Nanos directly on glass, but added felt corner pads in past setups, just because. The Nanos are all aluminum, and basically diffusing heat sinks.

The long lights have more plastic, but I dropped one in water, and others have been sprayed by bubbles and/or splashing for years.
