  1. Phosphate correct? That is what I thought Cory said.
  2. Cory on the stream a few days ago told me to add flakes, or eg, but he recommended flakes, will do when I get back from my vacation, on it right now, updates soon, @Mmiller2001
  3. I would trim when it gets full length, but if to huge cut whenever you want, just not to much. Thanks for the update @j_rider!
  4. I personally would switch him to the other tank, but make sure you acclimate slowly and carefully. But yes agreed with @Tony s.
  5. Have any fishkeeping friends around? That like plants? That would be good
  6. Store or friends. But sadly I don’t have hardly any fishkeeping friends, and the ones who do fishkeeping, have no room for fish that I would give. But if you gotta club, the best option imo. Or sell online, aquabid,, things like that. Here! As well, the sell/trade section of this forum.
  7. Sounds good, thank you for the quick reply @Mmiller2001.
  8. How should I get phosphate in my tank? I hear that some fish food (certain kinds) have some in it. Does ACs all in one fertilizer have it? I did 3 pumps this morning after wc btw @Mmiller2001.
  9. Yea I forgot that Pearl weed lives up to its name, it can grow like a weed. I forgot to mention, not just carpeting plants, were those ideas. You might like Windelov Java fern also. My fav type of Java fern. Crypt plants can do well. Only certain kinds grow big I think. Check me on that. Not huge on crypts, so not a ton of experience with those. Monte Carlo can be a good one, can be a floater to actually. Nvr tried it in the gravel, only as a floater but I think it would be great, go to ACs website, they have some good ones as far as carpeting plants go. So yea it can be done, co2 or no co2, dwarf hair grass should be fine.
  10. Pearl weed, micro sword, dwarf Sagitaria, dwarf hair grass. Lots of good stem ones. Anubias plants are always a plus as well!
  11. This is just pure luck but I put 80 degree water in jugs for a wc last night, put it in front of a fan, and magically is 72 degrees this morning. Perfect degrees. Temp of my tank! Wc early this morning, things are going well. Minnows and snails are doing well. Anubias after cleaning @Mmiller2001
  12. 4.5! Love it, I might add a few more smaller stem plants at the bottom, could look cool. But yes I love the tank! Nice 👍 job.
  13. I would be careful with the baking soda, can really spike the ph if to much added. But you should be fine there. The ph, if it is drastically changing, and fast, and a big difference like how you mentioned, can very well be a big issue. Just don’t know how that is even possible. Weird.
  14. It is to stop it from falling in the tank. But I have the same lid, just different size, and i didn’t know what those were either. So I didn’t even use them actually. Works fine for me without them. I have a 10g tank. Idk specifically what it’s main use is, but I don’t think it is required. Have had mine for months, no issues. I cut a hole for my hob and airstone tubing as well. I see you did too. Besides those two pieces I think it is a great lid.
  15. But I have some Qs, the amount of food, as much as they can eat in 2 mins isn’t always the best idea actually, cause that can be a lot or a little. If they are fat, then could be overfeeding. (But just a thought). Yes same questions. Is there a airstone in the tank, some of the problems could be from lack of oxygen. A airstone can help with that. @Colu should have treatment ideas tho. Oh and welcome to the forum @Andarina! And community! 🙂
  16. I meant @Colu, he is a disease expert. So I quoted him. He will receive a email form that so he will see your post @Andarina. Sorry for the misunderstanding 🙂
  17. Long or tall has its place. But if you are looking for a nano tank horizontal swimming space would be better. But a 20g or bigger, longer tanks is what I say. A 20g long to anything higher would be great!
  18. Aquarium salt kanaplex and maracyn are well known treatments and can help, but for specific dosing, @Colu can help @P33. He knows a lot of treatments for disease.
  19. Yeah I am planning on a wc tomorrow, i guess I will take it out and clean it, and the easy planter as well. Thanks
  20. @Mmiller2001, what is wrong with my anubias do you think? It is looking ruff, covered in algae even after I clean it every wc. Thoughts? And when I try to clean it, some of the algae will not even come off! Idk what is wrong. What kind of algae do you think as well?
  21. Thanks @Tony s! Updates when I get back!
  22. Ammonia 0, nitrite 3 ppm. Going out of town for sat-wed or Thursday, and i wil not be able to check the ammonia nitrite and all. Should i add more ammonia before i go? I got some progress!!!!! Now it is the nitrite time of the cycle, where is goes skyrocketing lol. thx. @Tony s? Thoughts anybody?
  23. Yes that will help a ton. Once a month is usually good. And 1 pump per week.
  24. Np, hope everything goes well. Good luck!
