  1. I'm still trying to figure out if its gold or gbr. I've had 3 spawns but all were very poor spawns so none hatched. My pair is about to spawn, hopefully I can figure out
  2. I personally never used trays for angelfish fry. What I do is pull the eggs when you can see their little tail or if you do not want to risk the parents eating the babies pull the eggs as soon as they finish spawning.
  3. The midnight strain was made from darker gbr.
  4. Nice looking rams! Well if it’s the rams first time spawning most of the eggs won’t be fertilized so there is 100% chance it’s gonna be a bad hatch. If you want to try and give it a shot what I would do is pull the rock out and place it any container with an air stone and some methalyne blue. If you don’t have this you can use any fungus medication but I recommend methalyne blue. Wait a couple of days and see if the eggs hatch or not. Good luck!
  5. Was curious if anyone ever seen an electric cross with midnight before. I wanted to try and see how the rams would look.
  6. I will test soon I am currently unable to test right now. I was using prazipro to treat my tank because I had suspected there was a flukes outbreak. 2 days into the treatment noticed my fish were acting weird and one of my angelfish started to lose its ventral fins.
  7. I tested my water and my ammonia is extremely high right now. nitrate is 0 nitrite is 0 ammonia is 2. This never happened to me at all, I did do a water change yesterday did this cause my ammonia to spike up?
  8. I'm not 100% sure what scam seeds are but most of the time its going to be hairgrass. Hairgrass will grow in brackish but like any carpeting plants it will take time for it to grow. Hairgrass will grow but at a really slow pace without co2. But most scams won't grow so I won't even bother.
  9. Sounds good these guys will need a salinity of 1.005-1.008. If you notice his flashing getting worse treat the tank with prazi pro. Prazi pro are safe for puffers and treats flukes very well.
  10. Well I am not sure how much gh and kh you would put in but it will either slowly or rapidy change the ph depending on how much the gh and kh difference is. I also recommend do not change the gh and kh in your tank suddenly if there is livestock in there. I would do slow water changes over a period of a week around 10% every water change.
  11. never heard about or seen that before. are you keeping these guys in brackish?
  12. If your talking about 2 clear small moles that are between both of its eyes, its part of their body I am not 100% sure what its called. Do you mind sending a picture of the mole near the stomach?
  13. When I use to take care of f8p they had black spot as well but it didn't really have much harm so I would say it should be fine. I would only start getting concerned if that black spot turns into black patches.
  14. I have an rodi and I mix the rodi with my tap water to get the right hardness. Also know your ph is going to fluctuate as you change the hardness of the water so be aware of that as well
  15. 10/11/2022 Hatched my recent angelfish spawn which was good not a lot but a good decent amount! My previous angelfish batch from a 3 weeks ago gotten huge and are now developing their fins. Unfortunately I lost one of my black male ram because of its wounds that I was treating which was a bummer, so now I have 2 pairs but better then none.
  16. I unfortunately have not bred discus yet, even though my name is DiscusLover…
  17. Ph around 6.2 gh 5 kh 5 nitrates nitrite ammonia all 0 did a water change 2 hours earlier. There has been aggression but kinda a pecking order? I don't have a photo of that ram but I have a picture of a different ram in the same tank.
  18. I just found my rams fin a bit messed up. I'm not sure how this happen. How can I treat it?
  19. Hey guys I had these discus for about 4 months now and I still do not know what type these two are, if you guys can help me that would be great.
  20. There are chances that angelfish can eat their babies. Thats why most people take them out as they spawn. If you turned off the lights they can get scared and start frantically eating their babies.
  21. Rummynoses like long tanks so a 15 is way too small. I would just go with @AnimalNerd98 suggestions
