Here is a helpful article on the disease: https://www.aquariumsource.com/fish-popeye-disease/ Basic steps: (1) quarantine the fish (2) add salt to reduce stress and swelling (3) treat with broad spectrum antibiotic (4) Improve the water quality in the infected tank Usually popeye happens when a fish is physically injured (e.g. "bar fight") or on account of poor water quality building up over time. Stay on top of your water changes and filter cleanings. Feed quality food, and probably a bit less that you have been. We had a discus with popeye a little while ago.
