FrozenFins
Thats so cool, one day I'll catch wild fish for my aquariums. Are these plecos/ mollys invassive where you live?

Taco
Crazy. Catching local fish for an aquarium is definitely up there on my list for fish keeping! So cool.

Colu
Hopefully all the nonative fish are not affecting the native fish populations
wendypizza
I've been planning to go to Manoa stream to catch some fish for a new aquarium whenever I get it set up...I'll admit I'm a little afraid of catching a massive pleco because I've got nowhere to keep it but I don't want to release it since it's invasive 😕
josh world
If anything you can catch and release. There are lots of shallow spots where you can catch smaller plecos. You can also catch dojo loaches and small mouth bass in the stream. The biggest fish I personally caught was a convict but those are pretty common. Colu
It one of the down side of fish keeping is irresponsible people releaseing fish in to the wild with out thinking of the consequences

josh world
The Honolulu aquarium society takes out invasive species from the streams every once and a while to try combat the problem. These invasive fish eat native fish eggs and out compete food for the natives. I agree with Colu because it is a real problem.
