Paige
LED Lighting Recommendation for a large tank? 180, so 72”x24x24. I've been looking at the new Current USA Serene series since they offer a 72” LED which I like aesthetically. If I went with Fluval or Finnex I”d have to have mount 36” side by side so unless much better for the plants or visual effect, I'd prefer a single 72” bat. I'm new to serious planting - just anubius, swords and Val in past - so your input much appreciated. Edited December 5, 2020 by Paige
Streetwise
You could also consider running multiple 24” lights in the other direction. I’m a big fan of the Fluval Plant 3.0 lights.
Paul
I have a 120 which is the same depth and width and I’m running two 48” lights to get good plant growth. 1 is a Stingray 2.0 and the other is a Marineland fixture.
Jess
I guess one thing to consider is the light coverage. Depending on what kind of "serious planting" you're after, a single strip may not provide even enough light coverage front-to-back on a 24" wide tank. So you may want two anyway, just to give you more flexibility with your plant layout. I think if I had a tank that size I'd be looking at pendant lighting, or lighting that sits inside a removable cover. Too much hassle to move/remove them when I need to reach in there, and I'd nervous about them falling in.
Streetwise
These are the pendant lights I that I have researched: AI Prime Freshwater, and Kessil Freshwater Lights. I believe @Daniel has Kessil Tuna Sun lights on his centerpiece aquarium.
