Is it going to hurt my fish if they nibble at an Easy Green root tab that's floated up through the substrate into the water column?

My substrate is pretty lightweight and my chili rasboras are dumb. A few times I've buried root tabs and looked up a bit later to see a big white and green amorphous blob floating in the water with the rasboras trying to eat it - I've quickly fished out the tab and trashed it to be safe but is it likely to hurt them?

It should be fine. Just try to bury them deeper - push down a good inch or two then off to a side into the roots. 

I had a senegal bichir who would actively dig them up just to eat them. Drove me bonkers.

Haha oh man! Thanks! I try to bury them all the way until I hit the bottom of the tank but i think they float up as I'm pulling the planting tweezers up through the substrate after. I'll experiment with different ways to bury them.

Don't worry though, the little capsules won't hurt them. I think Cory referred to them as being similar to dissolving pill capsules that humans take. Should be harmless. 

I loled at you calling them dumb though hahaha mine are ridiculously derpy too 😂

Make sure to bury them deep into the substrate, if they are floating up it usually means they are not being pushed down deep enough.
