Eddy_C
Hi everyone, Im new to the forum (and the hobby) and would appreciate any help or advice. My local pet store sold me an aquarium plant called a Purple Temple (Pisces Purple Temple). I am a beginner and although it looks great in the aquarium (and is sold as an aquatic plant), I have heard that some non-aquatic plants are sold as aquatic plants in general pet stores and can't help but question if this is an aquatic plant at all. My challenge is that I am considering removing this plant from the aquarium and into a terrarium where it can emerge from the water, but I can't seem to find any care information for this specific plant online. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Edited April 29 by Eddy_C Edit intro
Mmiller2001
Can you post a picture of it.
xXInkedPhoenixX
Yes some of the stores sell "semi-aquatic plants" which means they can live with the roots in the water but not the leaves (it has happened to me!). @Mmiller2001 is basically a plant guru if you post a pic the mystery could be solved!

Mmiller2001
Hmm, almost looks like persecaria kawagoeanum. I'm not completely sure what that is. @gjcarew? 1
Ninjoma
I think it could be some kind of Alternanthera like reineckii.
gjcarew
Yeah I think it's alternanthera reineckii 'Lilacina'. Probably not the best for a terrarium since it's going to want saturated soil to do well. 2
