JessicaK
Does anyone have experience with very small shrimp? I would appreciate any suggestions on plants that would be well suited for a small shrimp aquarium. TIA!

I recommend java moss or a dwarf aquairum lily.
AllFishNoBrakes
Java moss has been excellent for me. Combined with floating plants (Coop doesn’t offer those) you can’t go wrong. Anything else that does well in your water can add textures and depth!
lefty o
i agree with any plant. if they can climb on or in it, and pick at the bio film, and algae on it, its good.
FlyingFishKeeper
Hi, like others have said pretty much just whatever you want. I like playing around with looks so something that goes well with the shrimp's colour perhaps. Mosses additionally can work well if you're really trying to get biofilm/grazing surfaces for the shrimp due to their high surface area.
TheSwissAquarist
Anything really, but Java Moss and micro sword look really nice as long as you have a couple of amanos to keep the algae in check. Dwarf hair grass is also v. cool.
TeeJay
In my shrimp sanctuary tank I keep Java moss and Java ferns. Floating hornwort and suswassertang work well. Just added a pot of hair grass to see if I can get that to carpet as well.

Pearl weed forms dense clumps when floating, and is one of the best plants there is for providing hiding places for fry and shrimp.
The Arthritic Aquarist
I have mine with Val, Dwarf Sag, Java Fern, and a couple of Anubias varieties. Seems to work fine. Also some Cardamine floating at the top, which they enjoy (I have a HOB so traditional floaters don't work). I don't think they're fussy. Seem to really like Lava Rock. I tried Java Moss (twice) but had no luck with it. It just seems to die back in my tank no matter what I try.
