Theplatymaster
I am Theplatymaster, sorry if you get offended by my username, i started calling myself it and i like it. I have around 30 platies (20ish of them are fry) and have a planted 20gal. I am currently saving up to try a corydora breeding project and my favourite fish is the 3-lined corydora

Guppysnail
Welcome. I’m in the same boat. My LFS is 45 minutes from me and the club is there so to far for me to travel regularly. My forum friends are my fish keeping friends.

Beardedbillygoat1975
Platys are the gateway drug to livebearer breeding. Welcome welcome to our addiction I mean hobby! Corys are great and you'll have a ball with them. I would go with a minimum of a 20 long for a breeding group. Heavily planted, lots of flow from a HOB or powerhead, you can decide on sand or aquasoil vs baretank. Lots of plant cover and some wood would be appreciated. Clean water, high protein foods and cool water changes typically lead to spawning when they are of age.
PineSong
I love platies, too. They are the perfect fish as far as I'm concerned--they come in every color, they are peaceful, they make more platies, they clean their own tank...all good! Welcome to the forum!
