Andrew Puhr
I am preparing to reseal a 30 Breeder. I am having issues getting the silicone out of the corner. Any tips? 2nd hand looks like revealed once already. Wanted to get all silicone out before I get to cleaning.
Garren
I have used this before for corners caulk work. Work for the most part. Some of the upper corners are just hard. Allway caulk tool. I think I got it at lowes.
Daniel
I have used an X-acto knife to clean out silicone in the corner of aquariums.
Andrew Puhr
I got it all cleaned out. Now I am going to clean the overall glass and then use some acetone to clean all the silicone residue before applying fresh breads! Thanks for your help guys!
ange
Glad everyone was able to help you out! Resealing a tank is no joke. Acetone is a great idea since your fresh bead won't adhere to residual silicone from the old seal.
Andrew Puhr
The weather in the Midwest hasn't been my friend this week but I finally got the tank cleaned for the most part so I can hopefully silicone Saturday morning and fill test next week! Andrew Puhr
about 18 hours into a leak test and so far so good! Might be able to actually set it up this weekend if everything continues to go smoothly!
Andrew Puhr
Okay we are just about 48 hours into the leak test. I am thinking about setting it up tomorrow. Do you think I am safe to do that or should I wait a little longer on the leak test?
