My longfin lemon blue eyed bristlenose plecos. They sit in their food dishes at dinner time and stare at me until they get their veggies. 😁

My blood parrot and electric blue acaras always swim up to me when I come up to their tank.

back in the day , one of my gar was a pretty good puppy. you could reach in, pet him, move him around. he didnt much like it if you tried to pick him up out of the water though. then everything got wet.

Goldfish are very playful, mine would follow me as I moved around the room. Wave at me when I came home from work. And throw stones or splash me if they weren't getting enough attention.

They would also splash cats when I used to  look after some for a friend.

I think any of the longer lived fish have the potential to be water puppies.

When I was breeding mollies I loved the way they would swim right up and nibble food pellets off of my fingers. They also just have a wiggly way of swimming that I find really cute.

Bettas are pretty good if you can't afford a giant tank (I'm jealous of anyone with enough space and money for an oscar or large puffer tank-I want both of them, real bad). The ones I have had so far have all had a lot of personality. One would even recognize me personally. If my wife and I both stood next to the tank she would swim to my side, I assume because of my status as "the food god."

My Festivum Spikey Feathers has been a great wet pet - super inquisitive, follows me around during maintenance, and has been a pretty benevolent tank boss with minimal losses I would blame him for.
