Zac
I mean…plants are plants. They’re all gonna absorb nitrates but if you want more nitrate absorption you’re gonna need dense plants, large leaves, etc.
Flumpweesel
Faster growing plants so stem and floating plants will use more than the slower growing plants but not sure how measurable the difference would be. The plants you grow out of the tank are probably more efficient again as they have better access to light and co2 so able to convert faster.

GardenStateGoldfish
Not sure if your open to plants above the tank, but sweet potatoes, pothos, monstera are just a few plants that are also very good at nitrate absorption. Just have the roots in the water and the leaves and stems above and they do the rest themself.
GameCzar
Floaters do a great job too, and propagate quickly.

I'm not recommending it, you understand. I already have enough people who don't like me. I don't need any more.
eatyourpeas
I am finding Salvinia cucculata outcompetes Duckweed and takes over. I am seeing that in all of my tanks.
