Gideyon
I have my air going into an air stone at the lowest possible setting in a fishless tank. The bubbles are tiny microbubbles that float around. When fish do move in, would this be a problem? My concern is it can be confused for food. But what would happen if they swallow air? I read opposing viewpoints online. Anyone have experience or knowledge on this?
Atitagain
IMO it wouldn’t be a problem. You could create more surface agitation to pop more of the bubbles. Or loosen up the stone a little to create bigger bubbles (if it’s adjustable that is) good luck mate
Guppysnail
I used to run sandstones that created ultra fine micro bubbles and never experienced a problem
OnlyGenusCaps
Nah, shouldn't be a problem. I've specifically added microbubblers to a tank or two, plus I have an oxydizing iron tank on my well to "rust" out the amazing amount of iron in my water. When the water comes out of the tap there are so many tiny bubbles in it that the water looks milky. When I pour it in the tanks some of the fish like to play in the cold (~5°C), bubbly water before it dissipates. I've never run into an issue with any of them.
