damaneice
I recently set up a new tank. After a week I bought a couple plants and three guppies. I dosed it will fritz bottled bacteria with the amount listed on the instructions. I woke up this morning and all three were gone. They looked like something had eaten them. Is it possible the plants had a pest or something in them?
SWilson
My initial guess based on the information you provided is that the tank was not yet cycled and an ammonia or nitrite spike killed them. But you say they looked like something had eaten them? Could you be more specific please? Do you have a water testing kit to rpovide your water parameters, or are you able to take a sample of your water to a local fish store to have it tested? damaneice
It is strange that half of the fish is missing. Edited May 10, 2021 by damaneice

damaneice
No the only things in the tank were guppies and plants.
Colu
Looking at the way it been eaten I would suspect dragon fly nymph or other aquatic insect that has come in on your plants

lefty o
thats really odd. normally if they die form natural or water condition problems, they just lose color and maybe get fuzzy if you dont see them for a while. to be half gone, hmm.
