What would be the best way to get rid of it?

No the only things in the tank were guppies and plants.

It is strange that half of the fish is missing.

I recently set up a new tank. After a week I bought a couple plants and three guppies. I dosed it will fritz bottled bacteria with the amount listed on the instructions. I woke up this morning and all three were gone. They looked like something had eaten them. Is it possible the plants had a pest or something in them?
