  1. @Streetwise ty for the page lol.

    @Patrick_G

There are some scary strong titianium and steel alloys out there that you wouldn't want on your finger, but I don't believe any of them are used to make rings.

I normally don't wear my ring for normal day to day activities for my worry of losing it or scratching things with it. But I do enjoy wearing it when we or I go out.

"Fish aren't like real pets, more like decorations"

If you're going to show me 17 pictures of a sleeping cat you better be ready for some goldfish anecdotes cause I've got loads and yes they are cute and yes they have memories.

And watch their eyes glaze over 4 seconds in lol.

When I started everything I thought I knew was a misconception, and I think I've finally learned enough to know that I know nearly nothing. Natural systems are complicated...

    Anyone have experience with this?

If you setup glue traps, what did you do with a trapped mouse?   I don't think you'd just throw it in the garbage. Or do you?

I moved into a old farm house about 8 years ago and although the war may never be won, after a few years of the battle I learned how to at least be on the winning side.

For inside use I stopped using bait entirely, in my experience proper trap placement is key. With bait you risk bugs and attracting more mice by smell and sometimes a free meal. When mice move they always hug the walls. So in places where kids/pets can't access I use those plastic reuseable traps and set them facing the wall right up against it. As they run along the wall they trip the paddle and get caught, then those traps are easy to remove the mouse without touching it and be reset. For kid/pet areas I use the havart traps and place them against the walls. It's a live trap so you can either put the cage unter water for a couple minutes or if it's cold enough a few hours on the porch will take care of it too. I once had a live trap in a cold corner, maybe 50deg temp, and mice wouldn't last the night.

For outdoor, IMO the best strategy is to do your best to find and block their points of entry.

I find it a little overrated

Same, definitely an entertaining and interesting watch, and I really enjoyed the tug of war scene, but it seemed overly suspensful at times. I don't really analyze shows much, I don't watch very many usually I just stick back and enjoy the ride without thinking about it too much, but this one either I didn't enjoy the theme or how it was executed I guess because I didn't feel there was much of a take away, but then again the story isn't necessarily over.

@TheDukeAnumber1, what was it like to print air-stones?

I've only printed my own design and TBH they were very easy prints, quick prints with no issues and they have been running maintenance free in my tanks for years at this point. Mine make medium/large bubbles, I know other designs get creative for fine bubbles but I haven't messed with those yet.

This is all I can contribute, but it might matter.

Lead is very harmful to humans, and is at an unsafe level in about 1/4 of the homes in my city - so much so that the city mails instructions to every house, telling them how to drink water safely. I paid for an independent lab to test the water from my house, and sure enough, I'm among the 1/4.

So part of my fishkeeping is making sure my fishes' water doesn't have a harmful amount of lead. Lead pipes leech a harmful amount of lead into standing water in about 6 hours, so I certainly wouldn't use a lead plant anchor.

I have no knowledge about 3D printing though.

Glad to have your comment as I don't have knowledge on your side of the issue.

Oh that’s cool! Thanks for the quick response. If its ok, could you show me what you made for your tanks?

Here are a few aquarium related things I shared on thingiverse.

THB most of the stuff I design though is either very spefic or unrefined and I don't upload it.

  7. 3d printing can be a hobby all it's own but for my use I see it as a companion hobby to my other hobbies and good for life in general if you like to tinker. If you're new to 3d modeling tinker cad is free and pretty easy to use and surprisingly powerful. I've printed airstones, gratings, spacers, decoration, pots, scoops, light housings, clips, and the list goes on.

I read a 3d printing article on making food-safe prints, and it was saying you need a steel nozzle instead of the stock brass nozzle because it contains trace amounts of lead.

IMO that's nuts. I would need to see some pretty strong testing evidence to believe any lead, let alone a meaningful amount of lead, leaves the nozzle and makes it into the water column. I've used PLA & ABS in my aquariums using brass nozzles for years with no noticable problems.
