Are you guys using the bottle recommended dose? I could be wrong but methylene blue is blue by nature and if it loses it's color it has become something else and is no longer effective. In my experience even in aerated water in direct sunlight it will last much longer than over nite. Sounds like something it pulling it out, are you running carbon filtration?

The brine shrimp are at their most nutritional phase right after hatching so don't let their small size deter you from feeding them. But you can raise them up in a small saltwater tank and feed them micro foods if you really wanted too.

I'm assuming/hoping gardening nerms are watching. I think I am a mid level gardener, through experience (hard lessons and successful experiments) I know a lot more than the average Joe, but definitely a lot less than the long time committed gardener.
I have a question for ya'll. (I lived TN for a few years so I can say ya'll)
Is fish water actually as great for watering plants as the majority claims? I'm sure it has nutrients for the plants and can be great for that aspect, but I usually till, fertilize, amend soil and mulch already. One thing that does not provide (or many things) is the soil micro organisms that are good for plants, I am a full believer that tending to the micro organisms in the soil can be of great benefit and am considering trying compost tea this year...
In summary... is aquarium water providing micro organisms or bacteria that will live in the soil and are good for plants? Is it akin to compost tea?

Atm my lid is aluminum foil lol, but I did get a heater to fit in there. Future plan is to make a pretty stand and lid eventually.

IMO duckweed can be easy to handle and get rid of if you only keep the giant duckweed variety. Personally I would never want to mess with the smaller varieties.

I have some summer tubbing seasons under my belt but I would love to hear from some veterans who have been at it for a while. Adding to the mosquito population is my least favorite aspect of outdoor tubs. So how do you manage mosquitos and what extra steps or intentional choices do you make to keep their numbers low? Whether it be fish, natural or artificial products, plants, structure or otherwise.

Hard to improve since you are already feeding a variety of high quality foods. Tropical flakes are fine. Glad to see someone giving the life of luxury to white clouds.

I agree with sump, Capacity, flexibility, and accessibility are great with a sump. You can even run plants in it, something no canister I am aware of can do.

They definitely use their sight differently, I think that is at least partly to blame.

I believe ACO recommends placing it at the bottom of the green tube. IMO place it as low and it can go if it doesn't bubble out of the sponge.

Either empirically or by calculations we (as in the forum) can help you figure out what your floors can safely carry when you buy.
This reminded me of Dean's advice.
