  1. @Solstice_Lacerthanks ! I've got two sword plants tucked behind it in that right hand corner , hopefully they'll grow out and help hide that sponge filter !
  2. On day 3 of 50 percent water changes. Added some vallisneria to the background along with 5 olive racer nerite snails Parameters have been 7.0 ph, nitrites at 0.25 ppm, nitrates at 10 ppm, ammonia between 1 and 2 ppm , Kh 80 ppm and Gh 180
  3. Thank you ! I've got 2 big caves in the center that go all the way to the back of the tank , made from the hardscape. Trying to separate them with the Amazon sword and micro sword as it grows out. And on the left of the picture the dark spot is a pvc cave I made with a 3/4 - 1" opening that connects to a 3" tube going all the way underground , then rolled it in substrate with silicone to hide it. As everything grows out plan adding some more barriers but want to see how the plants do first Thanks. Hoping as everything grows out the barriers will become more bold and help block line of sight , of not ill add more to it.
  4. Just got it set up. And going to start a journal and show progression. Hopefully some breeding. 29 gallon, marineland magniflow 220, finnex stingray, acoop sponge filter . Carib sea eco planted substrate underneath black blast sand and fine black sand on top. Root tabs 3 Amazon sword plants, 5 micro sword plants spread throughout, 5 Dwarf sagittaria, 3 java fern , and a small anubias plant . Going to let cycle and see where all this goes !
  5. @anewbie thanks ! Hoping I can get one male and 3 females but we'll see. And if the micro sword grows out it should help with separating some of the cave openings. Trying to get some double red agassazi
  6. Finally got the stand ! Tried out some Carib sea eco planted , black blast sand medium grit with a more fine black sand on top. Magniflow 220 underneath. Got my 2 sword plants , 5 Dwarf sagitteria , and 5 micro swords in and finnex stingray from aquarium co-op. Tried to make some natural caves , and also have a pvc rolled in substrate cave hidden on the left side. Seeded small acco sponge filter. Time to cycle this thing and then get livestock!! I'm excited !
  7. @Atitagain lol gonna try my hardest but I'd put money on it that I'm rearranging it weeks after I set it up
  8. Sooo really wanna dedicate this new tank to mainly plants and a scape that I'm happy with from the start. 29 gallon will be stocked with 1 male and 3 female double red Agassizi, 6-10 tetras, and 5 otocinclus . Plants : two Amazon swords, Dwarf sagittaria background. Micro sword in the foreground . May add some cryps. Finnex stingray 30", small aco sponge filter and magniflow canister filter . Black blast sand with planted substrate underneath and all black rocks. Getting impatient for the stand to come in and just wanted to share lol. Let me know if yall have any recommendations or input thanks ! Ps. After layering sand and gravel as I scape hoping only the top 2/3rds of the rock will be exposed and I can have hidden caves along with plants creep over edges of the rock
  9. My cats turn into Tasmanian devils from 10-3 am every night. Can't trust em
  10. @GuppysnailThank ya! I've got pathos on my patio tank and am starting to see that the roots are growing but there's some deficiency getting the leaves. I've got 3 cats inside though so don't want to get them sick
  11. Sooo just added some Wisteria to the 55. Have been dealing with some bba so hoping more plants in the system may help along with h2o2 dosing. Any advice on growing it ??? My tank seems to only like growing vallisneria and a sword or two so trying to find more species . Thanks !
  12. 9 for the first batch of fry from the yellow lab mom. She had more when I was out of town last month but they turned into fish food by the time I was home lol
  13. Free swimming since 8-23-21 . Just about 2 inches long and fiesty!
  14. Love the videos again man. When you pull the rocks with eggs on them why are you adding the half ml of h2o2 to the separation tank??
  15. This seems to be the only algae I struggle with In my 55, I trim most leaves that get a large buildup. The Bacopa has been the biggest struggle since putting into the tank. Just switched to a plamted plus 48" but had the same issue before with the t5 fixture. 9 hour light cycle and the new light maxes out at 50% Parameters. Ammonia. 0-0.5 Nitrates. 5 ppm Nitrites . 0 Ph. 7.4 Any help or recommendations appreciate. Thanks
  16. Soooo setting up a new 30 gallon soon. Want it to be heavily planted and not do my normal mbuna or larger cichlids. I really like apistos and pelvichromis or Kribs, but don't know a whole lit about them. Any advice , pros and cons , or other recommendations for smaller species I could stock this tank with???? Thanks everyone
  17. Sweeeeeet. Thanks for the info , and digging your gym and fishroom setup!
  18. Love the videos! My 5 year old daughter is my water testing buddy lol. I'd love to have some breed specific stuff going , maybe in the future when I get more tanks
  19. Mom is a yellow lab and dad is a orange/red zebra . Only breeders I've seen in my tank . but there's also red top cobalt, blue dolphin, and yellow tail acei
  20. Yep since he or she was rice sized it had black down its back. Mom is a yellow lab and dad is an orange zebra so there's a few oddball colors in the batch of babies
  21. My runt of the litter has a black Mohawk, think he'll be an ob or just going to have a black back on him??
