Paul, thanks for sharing. Do you have any pictures? I would love to see what your setup looks like.

The top picture is the 120 sorry it’s not very current the lower picture is my 40 breeder which is current. Both tanks have Stingray 2.0 on them  6E97647F-E661-4566-85E4-3D16390DC414.jpeg.417d9696c81835386433e672b8f4a0df.jpeg8D4936B7-5F49-4397-8DD3-14E5BB72A45E.jpeg.d0c1b63cf778c299babb9dbdcabd5cef.jpeg

  2. Try adding some Aragonite to a mesh filter bag. It will help buffer your water and bump up your pH some. This will not happen over night so give it some time.

So I want to do a shellie cichlid tank with some needle and windelov java. My LFS stocks cichlids at 8.2. They are adamant about me raising my ph to

You can also add some small pieces of flagstone. With all that being said once you start chasing pH you won't stop.

Everyone seems to be taking a break from breeding for the moment. The second pair to breed may have actually hatched their batch of eggs, but I never saw any wigglers after that. I wouldn't be surprised if it takes a month or two to get the first batch of babies.

The pair in my 120 have been spawning every week to 10 days Since I put the new male in the tank. Unfortunately the clutches have all fungused over. Good luck @Daniel

    I have two tanks.

In my 40gallon I have a 3 inch kribensis. He’s very chill and doesn’t disturb any of his tank mates.
In my 29 gallon I have a 1.2-1.5 inch male kribensis that I took from a friend that didn’t want him. the issue is he’s  aggressive towards the corydoras. My corys are full grown but their fins are getting destroyed.

should I put the little male kribensis in with the big one in the 40 gallon?
anyone with experience would be highly appreciated.

this lil krib is stressing me out.

    thanks 🙏🙏

Kribs are cichlids after all and can be aggressive. So how do you reduce that aggression you add more kribs. I have a 40 breeder with Kribs breeding in it and they barely acknowledge the other fish.

Apistogramma borellii are an excellent choice for a room temperature aquarium. I have kept and bred them in a 65°F - 70°F aquarium and at that temperature I suspect they considered it very warm. I have heard they have been found thriving in the wild in 45°F water.

I haven't kept Buenos Aires tetras but you can tell by the name that they come from cooler waters (Buenos Aires being further South) so your temperature range will be perfect for them.

As @Danielsaid the Gymnogeophagus & A borelii come from cooler waters. With that being said I’d still keep a heater in the tank with a controller on it set to a  range of 68-72. This way if you decide to put Corys in this tank the water will be tolerable for them.

So say I was thinking of drilling the bottom of a tank to run airline that way in order to hide it. It doesn't seem that it would require modifications other than just not using the base iirc there's actually a  spot on both ends to connect airline but I just wanted to check. Is there any reason it wouldn't perform as well in that configuration?

If concealing  the air lines is the issue CoOp sells black air lines. No need to drill especially the bottom of your tank.
