  1. Your fish are so colorful. I can't wait to hear how breeding goes. Here are some things to watch out for. Make sure you know what to do with all of the fry. Your tank is big enough for the bettas now, but when you start breeding them, just make sure you have a plan. Next, watch out for inbreeding. Inbreeding could lead to slower growth and sensitivity in some of the fry.
  2. Check the ingredients on the food. If you see copper sulfate, it is probably the food.
  3. Hi Sebastian, This depends on what you currently have in your tank. Some fish may pick on the shrimp or just swallow them whole. Make a list of what fish you have and we can see if they are compatible with freshwater shrimp. Shrimp can be very helpful because they are constantly eating algae and keeping your water clean. They are also really fun to watch.
  4. If you notice other invertebrates dying, it could be the food. In most algae based foods, there is copper sulfate, which is very harmful to most invertebrates.
  5. Your water is fine, and it doesn't look like anything is wrong with your betta. Like Yanni said, he could just be "bored"
  6. I had three ghost shrimp with a betta for about a month after they jumped out when I left the feeding hole open. They are as good pets as any other shrimp, just less colorful.
  7. I agree with FrostiesFishes. Angelfish are a type of cichlid. Though that does not mean they are very aggressive, they can eat any fish that fits in its mouth. There is not really any way to keep the angelfish from eating the neon tetras, even if you feed them well. You should be fine for about a year or so, but after that, you should remove the neon tetras if you want them to live.
