  1. @macdaddy36 I got both setup on Feb 7th. It did initially have the white/grey biofilm, but I cleaned it off, and now this more black biofilm algae looking stuff has come back!
  2. @clownbaby thanks for all of the advice! Here is the glass planters I got from amazon https://a.co/d/8VCmi5k
  3. @Tony s Thank you!! That is really helpful! I have another post in General thread about one of my Betta's caudal fins simply half gone overnight would love your thoughts on that if you can take a peek!
  4. @Tony s I just got a gh and kh test kit, need to figure out how to use it. The Ph is currently 6.6. And the tank was cycled with a steady Nitrate of 5ppm, but I recently did a large water change to add new substrate and I am worried I may have crashed it...
  5. @Kurt Brutting Thank you for the video rec. I actually just ordered those meds she recommended just incase it turns to an infection. I feel with 4 betta tanks, it's best to have it on hand anyways.
  6. Hi.. I am new to the hobby of fish keeping, and just really limited to Betta and snails. Would love any advice a long the way. Here are my tanks.... I currently think I need advice to help my rabbit snail thrive!
  7. This tank does get filtered sunlight (via white curtains) and seems it is starting to get this black fuzzy algae look... Thoughts on what it could be and perhaps how to treat it?
  8. @Kurt Brutting a few months ago when I first got him I noticed his fins in his way when on his hammock and he made little nibbles, but nothing close to this amount and so dramatic. Wondering if he did basically eat his own fins should I treat the tank with anything to prevent infections. He still has like long thin string of fin left where it once was.
  9. @AtomicSunfish he seems fairly normal. I'll have to keep a close eye for changes. Did you have to also treat the tank as well?
  10. Literally overnight my betta's caudal fin is half gone. Attached is a picture from yesterday (4/16) and today (4/17). Here are the changes,.. fully cycled tank for the past 2 months, BUT I did an 80% water change to add a new substrate. The tank still has old filters, plants and decor. One detail is that the old water was dark (which I didn't like) from Almond Leaves. Temp is 78. Only tank mate is a nice little Rabbit Snail. Let me know what you think? API Water parameters are pH-6.6 AMM-0 NO2-0 NO3-0 Also, I think I may have hard water..which could be a reason his pectoral fins are crinckled. ANyways. If you can, I would love your thoughts.
