  3. My tank is almost 3 months old. I have an albino pleco, Hillsdale loach, 6 pristella tetras, German blue ram, 2 platys, 7 baby platys, 4 Julie and 4 black loaches, a lot of plants and some shrimp. Everything looks good? Except for the hi ph. Should I be worried about the hi ph? I am using Father Fish substrate with his additive pack.

  5. My black loach taking a break. My kuhli loaches do similar. They are so funny to watch. I have 4 of each. Usually only see 3 maybe 4 at a time. One time we counted 7! Yay. Hoping I still have all 8. My 45 g dirted tank.
  6. I was giving my example of a low maintenance tank. Sorry, I guess it's off topic.
  7. I get it but I don't get the whole injecting CO2 into the tank. No filtration except for the plants and am running 2 air stones. I used Father Fish substrate and his supplement package with an aquarium sand cap. I am using the Fluval plant light and my highest daytime setting is 25%. Also with an extremely low red and blue setting. My plants are growing like crazy. I dialed the strength of the light settings back a little and my jungle thinned out a little but the plants are still racing towards the surface! So far, the 3 platys, 4 kuhli loaches, 4 black loaches and the albino pleco seem very happy. I am adding the whole scud and shrimp package from Phillips Fish Works: 1x Bag of Bugs - Microfauna Culture, 1x Aquatic Isopod Culture (10 Pack), (Neocaridina) 10 Pack and 1x Scud Balls. I did get some white fuzz on the wires and the air lines and some algae especially on the rear glass but the platys and the pleco cleaned that right up. Am heading towards 3 months and the tank is doing awesome. Am hoping to add some barbs to the mix. Just waiting to give the plants time to acclimate to new new members before I get some more occupants. Also haven't really seen any barbs that stay small enough or that I like.
  8. Thank you. I remember now. I just watched your YouTube video recently discussing this. Thanks again. BB
  9. Hi All. My 45 gallon tank is approx 2 months old. This is a dirt tank, loads of plants. No filter and has 2 air stones going. I have 3 platys in it and they seem to be doing ok. I wanted to add some kuhli loaches. Water parameters look good for them. Water Conditions: 73F-86F, 5.5-6.5pH, <5.0dGH I got this from Aquarium Source. My Ph is approx 7.0. Is that too high for kuhli loaches? What I am wondering about is the Hi ph reading. The Hi ph reading looks low? Below what the test system reads? Shouldn't matter to the Kuhli? KH is 4 degrees and GH is 6 degrees. I forgot to add. I did the Hi Ph test 3 times. Looked the same all 3 times.
