Struggle
My sword plant has sent a runner out and I would like to make sure that I plant the baby plants correctly. I am thinking that once the baby plants have four or five roots that I can trim the runner on each side of the baby plant and plant them with a root tab or two. Does this sound about right to those in the know?
KBOzzie59
That's how I do it. If you leave a little runner on each side (1/4" to 1/2") they work as a great anchor in addition to the roots.
Aquatic Journal
The longer you let them grow this way the better. For me they only survived once the leaves got to be 3-4 inches and I had a lot of roots coming out! but yes you can just trim them and plant them!
Ben Ellison
I have runners coming out of my swords that are over 4 foot long. Should I just keep letting them run?
