Frank
It took two months of soaking. My piece of driftwood has finally slowed its excessive (to me) leaching of tannins. During that time, I've added rocks and plants. There's no place left for the driftwood!!! How do I store it? Will it split apart while drying? It's "Malaysian driftwood". gardenman
It should be fine dried if you need to dry it out.
Biotope Biologist
I have all my old aquarium driftwoods downstairs in a fabric basket. They have been sitting there for at least 5 years, some for 8. Some still have old algae encrusted on that I couldn't be bothered to remove. Probably a home for cellar spiders now.

Did you dry them in any particular way?
Biotope Biologist
Laid them on a towel outside during the summer for a day or two
