Betta fins cut by filter

My friends betta applesauce got into the filter last night and I have some anti bacterial medicine on hand but is there anything else we can do to treat her?

You could treat with aquarium salt 1 table spoon for 2 gallons

Hi, some aquarium salt at 1tbsp per 1-2 gallons of water might be a good precaution, I would also dose the antibacterial meds too as long as it doesn't interact with the salt. Apart from that just some good food with a high amount of protein, bettas are hardy and usually heal quickly so as long as the injury isn't too severe she should be fine. In the future they also might want to turn down the filter, get a filter intake sponge, or get a sponge filter.
