Thank for the easy explanation! Question though: When staking these filters, does the air stone still need to be at the very top of the top filter? Will that provide enough of a pull through all stacked sponges? Thanks!

Will that provide enough of a pull through all stacked sponges? not Cory here but i think you just have to use small pieces of tubing of the correct lenght to connect all the filters nipples toghether till the bottom, and there place your airstone(so i would place it at the bottom, or towards the bottom if too many bubbles are escaping from the sides, otherwise doesen't have enough venturi to create lift)at that point, with such a lengthy lift pipe i think you should be ok with your standard airpump. correct me if I'm wrong Edited February 9, 2021 by gab

Just enough tubing to connect is all you need.
