Bubble effect question

@Brandon It appears like his air is coming from underneath the hardscape. One thing we've done is to lay down PLASKOLITE plastic grid light diffuser (you can get sheets at Lowes, or Home Depot) underneath your substrate and hardscape. Before adding the substrate or hardscape, zip tie airline and air stones (recommend you consider something really indestructible . . . maybe try Ziss never-clog airstones). Once the airline is connected to the diffuser, and running up the back then add your substrate and hardscape. As long as your Air pump is good and strong, you'll get this effect. Does that make sense?

Made this video awhile back. Kind of corny . . . was for a Fifth Grade classroom set up. First 30 seconds shows the diffuser. Just affix airlines and stones to it with zip ties before dumping everything onto it.

This is really interesting. The craziest part, is that the bubbles look like they're coming from the front of the aquarium. It's possible you can't see the clear airline tubing if he went this route, due to such bright lights, but I'd love to know how he pulled this off.
