TomO
How long does it take to cycle a bare bottom tank? I'm going to use a 20 gallon to breed my angels.
SpicyFin
This is very hard to answer as there are many factors to the equation. Generally to cycle a tank it takes 4-8 weeks. But if you use filter media from an established tank or even better yet put your heater and filter in an established tank for a few weeks before setting up a new tank and then transfer to the new tank and you can cut that time down to a few days or a week. TomO
I can do that, and I was going take a piece of wood with an annubias on it from my 55.

Should be the same as a normal tank 4-8 weeks unless you use established filter media or substrate or you could stick your filter and heater in another tank for a couple weeks before and then it should only take 1-1.5 weeks
