Aqua junky
I've got a heavily planted 55G with 9 smaller cichlids 3 yellow labs, 3 Duboisi, and 3 bumblebee bee cichlids. And a bristle nose plecos. The fish live in harmony amongst each other and I was curious if a shrimp colony could survive or if anyone has ever had any luck. I know people pull of strange stuff all the time and I was considering dropping some in. I just bought like 30 fire red Neocaridins from LRB aquatics. I guess it will work or they will become fish food!
Andy's Fish Den
I would guess that they will become food for all the cichlids. You never know though, if the tank is planted heavy and there are enough places for the shrimp to hide you may be able to pull it off.
Colu
I would not put shimp in with cichlid will be an expensive meal
FrozenFins
Agree with everything above, the shrimp will most likely become a meal. The smaller south american cichlids will probably even eat the shrimp let alone bigger african cichlids.
Brandy
My new baby acaras are 2.5 inches long. They will eat full grown neocaridina in about 3.5 seconds. My shrimp survive with an angelfish and german blue rams, but only in small numbers and only due to extensive plant cover.
