nic
I have a small Nicrew light with the bars that extend on top of my rimmed tank. I'd like to raise the light up and would prefer an arm of some sort that the light can clip on as I have a tendency to knock the light in the tank here and there. I've tried searching around but haven't had any luck. I've seen some mounts but they are fitted for specific lights. Is there some sort of mount or do people rig something to raise their lights? nabokovfan87
Etsy has a few risers, you'd have to check your specific light. I don't know if nicrew has a mounting kit, but there's ceiling mounts that run off cables and there is clip on ones that rest on the back of the tank and have arms to extend over the tank.

nic
@Chick-In-Of-TheSea @FLFishChik @nabokovfan87 Thanks for all these. I don't have the AquaLux Nicrew unfortunately. My tank is only 5 gallon so a suspended system might be a bit much 🙂 I did see the Hygger though that spacing doesn't fit mine but was thinking I could probably cut the bottom so it's not connected to allow it to fit. The acrylic could work. Current USA didn't show up in my search so I'll check that and Etsy too.
nabokovfan87
Sorry for the confusion @nic I wasn't thinking a small tank! There is a nano "clip on" light from a variety of brands, including nicrew or any brand you're looking for. If the riser style things don't work there's always other options too, probably similar cost as the risers themselves. https://www.amazon.com/NICREW-Aquarium-Clip-Light-Lighting/dp/B08QRB8ZWH/ref=sr_1_2?crid=1J92UIFX2VWLH&keywords=nicrew+clip+on+light&qid=1694320682&sprefix=nicrew+clip+on+l%2Caps%2C344&sr=8-2 Edited September 10 by nabokovfan87

I'm happy enough with my light (nothing to compare it to tho) but it's just short so I thought if I could raise it the light will spread a bit. Only downside to that is the tank is next to the couch so raising it will make it more noticeable to me as right now it's hidden by the rim. If I buy a diff light I worry about an adjustment period and potential changes with my plants or algae. Edited September 12 by nic
Max Grubbins
If your tank is close to the wall, you can mount it to the wall above the tank using shelf brackets. You can either support the light with the brackets themselves, or put up a shelf and mount the light on the underside. I have mine set up this way but its a little work and once you do it you can't just move the tank around.
