Ohad
It's kind of hard to see, but to me it looks like a baby fish. The only fish I have in this tank are otocinclus. Could it be? Also I need to do a water change tomorrow... Oh no. What to do ?
Theplatymaster
@Ohad does not look at all like a baby oto. @xXInkedPhoenixXcould confirm that. body shape wise it looks like a livebearer, have they been housed in the tank recently? have you added any new animals or plants to the tank recently? xXInkedPhoenixX
Hmmm. Not the right shape...but was it free swimming or stuck to the side of the tank? This is a baby Oto (a few days old though, they are typically translucent for the first few days of life): 1

Ok if it's not a baby otocinclus, I will go ahead and change the water, and if it will survive we will know.
xXInkedPhoenixX
@Ohad yeah baby Otos don't really free swim, I'd say they zip (to me teleport) from one place to another or just scoot along glass. So yes, likely you just have a hitchhiker.

Ohad
The baby fish survived a 50% water change and a massive plants trimming. He is smarter then I though and is swimming like he is the boss of the tank . Any idea what fish it could be then? I will hate if he will be a lonely fish
Cinnebuns
It's hard to tell scale in pics sometimes but it looks like a fry of a small species of fish. Doesn't look like a live bearer to me tbh. Almost reminds me of my pseudomugil furcata fry only without the blue eye. If it is as tiny as it appears, then I suggest feeding it super tiny food. I use Sera micro food but I know there are others.
xXInkedPhoenixX
It may be time before you know. Enjoy the little one! I really like seeing them grow up, any changes in appearance post a pic! (Crushing flake food small works well) Edited March 21, 2023 by xXInkedPhoenixX
Ohad
He still looks the same just a little longer. In the light I see shimmer of blue and red. And he is definitely hanging out at the very very top all the time. Close to the water level . Touching it.
smm333
That sounds super fun to me! A true mystery fry! 😊
PineSong
As always, jealous of those who have mystery fry! Happy to live vicariously and follow along to find out what the little one is!

I saw a post once where someone got a bonus pom pom crab.
