Is there money in floating plants?

So floating plants are easy and quick to produce, and difficult to ship. Does this make floating plants a decent side hustle?

Would you be selling them locally, if they're difficult to ship? To a LFS or at a club? I throw away handfuls of red root floaters, dwarf water lettuce, and Salvinia minima every week, so hopefully you've got a more lucrative - and less wasteful - alternative!

I can see water lettuce and red root floaters selling quite well, it you can keep them going and maintain a no-duckweed policy.

depending on the setup.

say a ten gallon tub (24x15x8) with a LED floodlight, and dosing some liquid ferts, you can probably get pretty good yield from that, for minimal cost, and in time it may pay for itself.

I find that I didn't earn much from selling floaters. I tried before and I had 5 different floaters (RRF, salvinia, frogbit, dwarf water lettuce and azolla). 

I would get a buyer once in awhile but I spent more time throwing them away than selling them. Ended up just giving them for free to whoever wants it.
