Jacob Hill-Legion Aquatics
What’s the best way of cutting this gravel vac shorter for my nano tank without cracking the tube?
nabokovfan87
I would think a dremel or soldering iron. It's an acrylic material or very similar. Bansaw would be the "easiest" if you have one or know anyone who has one. You might also be able to just order a spare parts and get one in that way. I'd start there or just get a nano one. I have 3 siphons. Glad I do 🙂
Guppysnail
Low tech solution- I have cut one with a finely serrated knife. I etch the entire thing the whole way around then start cutting 3/4 of the way through you can snap it off. It took 3-5 minutes for me. Then 15 to clean up the mess and vacuum. Kitchen counter was possibly not an appropriate place to do this 🤣
Theplatymaster
i did it with a boxcutter. (not my best idea). my issue was after that its important to sand it, doing it with an imperfect device ( like i did) leaves sharp edges.
Ken Burke
Pipe cutter if you have one. Sharp edges can be eliminated with a lighter, just don’t over do it.
