CrashBandit05
I'm sure it'll be fine but I'd personally get certified organic just to be safe.

I was basically sure it’s safe just wanted to make sure. And if it fails miserably I’m suing Wegmans for emotional damage
rockfisher
I personally like to use peat for black water. It has all the benefits of the tannins we’re tea is more just for color. I use Hoffman 15503 Canadian Sphagnum Peat Moss, 10 Quarts https://a.co/d/fuXMNuS stuffed in a panty hoe. There fine so debris does get out. I gave a friend that uses ZeeDix 100 Pcs 30mm Peat Pellets Seed Starter Soil Pods Plugs for Vegetable, Seedling Soil Block Compressed Peat Nutrient Seed Pods for Planting Easy Transplant with 100 Plant Labels & 2 Garden Tools https://a.co/d/boXqDnk in hoes. What size tank and what filtration are you using?

rockfisher
Sounds like you have a plan, maybe you can or some else can use it. Post pics when you get the look you want. I love black water tanks.

JJenna
I'm not very knowledgeable re: black water tanks, but I'm assuming you're using tea for the tannins in it or the red coloration. Rooibos has very low tannins in it, less than 5%. Edited December 26, 2022 by JJenna
