cavdad45
Got home last night and found that my grandson tried feeding a 20gallon tank, half a jar of flake food. I sucked out most of it and replaced half the water, Still cloudy, fish seem ok, Question is, should I do a change in the water again today or wait a few Edited November 11, 2022 by cavdad45
Odd Duck
Yes, change at least 50% again today. That’s a lot of food in the tank and impossible to get it all out no matter how hard you try. Test your water daily and water changes as needed until you’re certain things are back on track.
Janoš Bećar Pecaroš
Can you test the water?
Patrick_G
If possible I’d do another major water change, 50-80% with the goal of sucking out as much food as possible. If your siphon has a screen, remove temporarily so as much food as possible gets sucked out.
Flumpweesel
I wouldn't feed the tank for a few days, just mentioning because it's not been said..
nabokovfan87
I definitely wouldn't feed for 3-4 days, more if the fish have been well fed. Siphon it lightly daily to remove the big chunks of stuff. Then you just change water daily or every other day until you're happy with it. 50% is recommended, I've gone as high as 75-90% in emergency situations.
cavdad45
I did a small water change and the fish fasted. This morning, the tank is hugely improved. It looks like it should be back to it's original look by tomorrow. No fish problems. Everyone seems happy and active.
AndEEss
I would do another, at least 50%.

Just keep a close eye on parameters over the next week or so.
