North Dakota fish keeper
Can any of you identify what type of Angelfish this is? I know it is a female,, because she is laying eggs. I got her in December and she was a little bigger than a quarter at that time, and was listed as "Assorted Angelfish". Is she a Zebra Angelfish? Silver Angelfish? Other? Thanks for your help!
Fish Folk
At first look, it appears to be a wild-type / form of normal Pterophylum scalare — sometimes called “wild type,” “striped angel,” or _unhelpfully_ “Peruvian Altum.” Altum is a distinctly different species. This video shares a lot of footage and distinguishes between them… Edited April 3, 2022 by Fish Folk

Ken Burke
Thanks @Beardedbillygoat1975aNd @Patrick_G. I luv the red on gold, and when they are fired up spawning, they positively glow. One of these days I’m gonna pull the eggs and see if I can get any to hatch…. 1

If your still interested in a trio, these are about a month or two from shipping size. I’ve never shipped fish before, so I’d rather send them to someone I “know” in case I screw it up. 2
