Spray off thoroughly, and allow to dry completely. If that kind of sounds scary to you, you can set in a bath tub (if it will fit, and just rinse with water. The biggest issue is caring for the silicone. You do not want to gouge it, or you’ll have a leaker. We use an old visa-vanilla CCD to gently scrape residue off of glass panes.
