In what order should I stock my aquarium

Hi I'm just getting back into fish keeping. I have a 29 gallon set up and cycling. I plan on doing 6 tiger barbs and 6 cory cats. My 2 questions are what is a non-schooling fish that would add some popping color? & in what order should I add the fish? I don't plan on purchasing them all at once

cory's are pretty tough, id start with them, give it a week or so, then add something else.

I'd do tiger barbs last as they can be a bit aggressive and very nippy from my secondhand experience. If you added corydoras to the tiger barbs I imagine they'd get pretty stressed from being added to a new tank and immediately getting picked on.

Thanks that's what I was thinking would work best. Now I just got to find something to add a little more color that will get along well with both Corey cat's & tiger barbs that isn't a schooling fish because I don't have room for  Another school
