Warren Peace
Hi! I'm new here. I have a question. And one of my neon tetras in a school of 7 in a 10 gallon tank with 1 nerite snail has some fin rot. I don't know why. I immediately tested my water, and it came out 0ppm ammonia, 0ppm nitrite, ~30 ppm nitrate. I do 25% water changes each week, and I have cryptocorynes, and some vallisneria. I had this tank setup for about two years. Anyone have some ideas?
Administrators Cory Posted May 3, 2021 Administrators Share Posted May 3, 2021 What your Ph and other water parameters including temperature? Typically stress is what causes a disease outbreak.

My ph is around 7, I run my heater at 78 degrees. Around 9 degrees GH, and 8 dKH. Sometimes, one of the neons chase some of the smaller ones. Could that be it? Colu
Fin rot is usually caused by poor water quality and stress as Cory mentioned it could that particular neon is getting bullied I would do course of maracyn for the fin rot
Warren Peace
Thank you for the replies! I will take them in mind. I'll try out the maracyn. 🙂 Edited May 4, 2021 by Warren Peace
