Paul_Obermiller
I have been looking into discus for a while now, and people are all over the place when it comes to information. I have never kept discus and I'd like to know if it would be better for me to start with hybrids or wild. Thanks!

I wish I had a tank that size, I would make it a pumpkinseed tank.

The bigger the better when it come to tanks it much easy to keep stable water parameters in a larger volume of water

Andy's Fish Den
I have kept both wild and the domestic (hybrid) discus. I personally prefer the wild discus. I prefer the wild colorations over the "man-made" colors, and I have found that the wild ones tend to be hardier. The domestic ones that I have kept have been very sensitive to water chemistry changes, temp changes, not wanting to eat certain foods. I have kept wild caught several times, and have a group of Heckels right now, and once I got them to eat prepared foods such as pellets, they don't turn anything down.
