  1. So I’m going to use this space for my new tank. I know I have two other threads and I can’t always find them so if this is in the wrong spot please feel free to move it. Where I’m at now ~ my tank is set up with my stand with plywood that everybody helped me figure out and I’m going to be buying plastic soon. And then I will be filling it up🤭 It’s 29 gallon long and I’m going to be using white sand and I would like to get Pea Puffers and Rummynose and that’s it for a while. I found some rocks I think I had in my other tanks but I just wanna make sure these items are okay. So please tell me what you think. I can’t remember how we would test something before we put it into our tanks….
  2. I like this Torrey. I couldn’t remember what plastic to use so I came back here to look ~ so it’s tablecloth plastic I’m going to pick some up♥️ Tank Panda? I’m getting all paranoid now waters going to seep into that plywood no matter what I do😩
  3. So Amazon doesn’t have any of the Tetras all in one test strips anymore they’re out of stock. I’m trying to find a testing strip that has everything I don’t wanna have to buy a separate package of an ammonia strips. I can’t find the co-op test strips either🤭
  4. I think I got it ~ it’s about time right, Gentlemen🤣 You both are so wise and I totally appreciate it more than you know! i’m going to take a picture of what you guys are telling me and then you can tweak it for me💕
  5. But still use the plastic over the plywood? I’m not sure what “barrier that hangs down below the table they will keep water away the from the table to” means🤭. That’s not the black plastic bag?
  6. I was thinking about a large thick black garbage bag and just put the plywood inside and wrap it all up ~ then put the tank back on top. Or maybe even two bags. What do you think?
  7. Well shitums, Duck! I already put it all together🤦‍♀️ if you really think I should seal it I will do that. Front and back of the wood?
  8. This plywood fits perfectly thank you guys so much for all your help! I decided to cover it with a cloth, instead of staining or painting. I have many ~ 300lbs on this table is freaking me out I will admit😳
  9. I thought that too especially the hood~ I’m going to have a glass hood. But the filter I think it’s pretty good
  10. I wish I had kept my python. I still have the metal adapter on my faucet!! They do last forever! Thanks For that! I’m not sure if it is long enough to reach my kitchen ~ I have to see My replies “have merged” I Do you not know how I do that!
  11. Thanks So much! I already got it 29gal kit. Comes with a lot of stuff so I already have much of it. It comes with the filter and I am also getting a sponge filter for the bottom. I have to get Python type hose that hooks to my sink. Not really a bucket person😂. The kit comes with the heater thermometer a hood and filter and net and I don’t know what else I can’t remember😂
  12. Lefty I’m on Amazon because I don’t pay for shipping, and the only Tetris chips I can find is for ammonia only. Don’t I need to test for like everything? I’m just going to go ahead and ask more questions instead of taking out a new thread or new topic every time. When I had my 55 gallon tanks we were always taught never to use carbon in our filters only if we were taking meds out of the tank from a treatment. We would use a little bio filter and a bunch of sponges. Is that still the case? We will pull a sponge or two from our filters and we could have instant thanks cycling for a new tank. Also prime ~ I know that we still use aquarium salt ~ seems to me we will put it in right during the water change or maybe if somebody was coming down with something as a treatment I can’t remember…
  13. Thank you!! I’m gonna go look now💕 Wait ~ Lefty now that I have your attention. Years ago I used the python is that still the best choice? I only have a 29 gallon tank
  14. I’ve got my tank and my stand figured out so now I’m starting to collect other needed items. I’ve been out of the aquarium field for a while so I don’t know if there’s something simple, new and accurate I could use💕
  15. I CHANGED MY MIND!! I am going to go with the plywood and stand! I got my tank too! Don’t leave me yet guys♥️🙏
  16. “square board does not fit by 1 inch or more at the bottom” Guppy! OK so remember I’m not real bright when it comes to this stuff. Square board I have no idea what that is nor what you mean by that statement. But what I am gonna do once I get my stand home fully built I’m gonna take pictures of it and show you guys make sure it looks OK and then I’ll tighten it up. Now does that sound like a plan or what😂
  17. OK you guys have made my decision. I’m gonna get the stand instead of using this because I am famous forgetting I’m filling my tank and I have overflow and this will get soaked😢 although a 29 gallon will fill pretty quick quicker than a 55 gallon. But I want to thank all of you for taking the time to help me figure it all out♥️ Petco will put my stand together for $10 ~ it’s well worth it to me because I don’t like asking people to do anything for me there’s always a price to pay😉
  18. I love your shots! The yellow Apple snail up there, where did you get him because I can’t find that one in particular
  19. Thank you so much for all your help seriously! When everybody wakes up I’m gonna grab a few people we’re gonna go sit and wiggle on top of that puppy😂 I got so many replies and help on this thank you guys all of you♥️
  20. 3/4 thick plywood ~ My tank will be 32.25L and 14.25W My table is ~ 40L and 13.5W Is the width OK? Not much wiggle room there
  21. They are beautiful!♥️♥️ I LOVE plants in pots on bare bottom! I did that when I had Discus. Much less bacteria😉
  22. Margie I don’t know if my potential stand is Oak…. It does help thank you! Your display must look great! Ya know Guppy ~ it’s a lie without pictures ♥️♥️
  23. Really? Sounds about right never thought of it that way🤦‍♀️ OK so Lefty, do you think this is a good idea? OK dumb question ~ After adding the plywood and setting everything up, how do we KNOW that the legs aren’t going to buckle or the middle isn’t going to cave-in? I guess we don’t know that for any stand, really
