Yeah it could be case male gouramis are VERY territorial another male gourami might have attacked this one for getting too close to his territory.

It's best to stick with single gourami species per tank, though. Sexing is the biggest challenge and really important for peace of the tank!

I agree gouramis are pretty cute. Also, where did you get your honey gouramis anyway? I am looking for them to purchase for a centerpiece fish.
