  1. Ok got it. Will it hurt the plant if too many are cut off at once? Sorry for all these questions lmao.
  2. Well there are lily pads covering the whole surface of the aquarium (20 high) and that is from 2 dwarf aquarium lily plants.
  3. Hi! I have a few plants in my 20 gallon high aquarium: 2x Dwarf Aquarium Lily 1x Bacopa Caroliniana 1x Pogostemon Stellatus Octopus I am dosing about a 15 gallon dose of easy green and adding easy root tabs when I feel necessary. I have had no algae issues! I have a bottle of easy iron that I thought I might need but I am not sure if I should use it if I am not having any issues. Will it better enhance the colors of my plants? Is it worth the risk of getting algae? Thank you!
  4. I have 2 dwarf aquarium lilies and that have completly taken over the tank (I kinda like the look though) the surface is so full of lily pads that new ones don't have a place to go (I have an air stone and try my best to leave an area open for the fish). How would I trim some of the lilypads? Where do I cut? Will they grow back? Will this plant ever die? I am loving my dwarf aquarium lilies by the way
  5. I am thinking about getting cherry shrimp (first shrimp to keep). Can they get the rest of my aquarium sick? Tank Info: 20 gallon high Planted and cycled Thank you!
  6. I have a 20 gallon high cycled and planted aquarium. I have been using API quick start when I do water changes. Is there any benefit to using it for water changes on a cycled tank? Thanks!
  7. Can i use an essential oil diffuser in the same room as a lidded fish tank with an air stone? Is it safe for fish and live plants?
  8. Thanks!!! These would be my first shrimp so not into an existing colony of shrimp. I do have neon tetras, guppies, and mystery snails though. Should I still quarantine?
  9. Hi! I’m just wondering if and you need to quarantine new cherry shrimp. If so how? What size aquarium to quarantine if needed?
  10. The only real way to find out is to put them in your aquarium. Some bulbs just look weird but are just fine. If after you put them in your aquarium for a few weeks and they are mushy or smell bad contact aquarium coop. Rinse them off and place them resting on the top of the substrate. BE SURE YOU DON"T BURY THEM! (If they float let them float until they get filled with water and sink.) Once they sprout you can bury them about 3/4 of the way. You don't need to add root tabs at the very beginning as the bulb is full of nutrients. For more information: https://www.aquariumcoop.com/blogs/aquarium/dwarf-aquarium-lily-care If they don't sprout after a week: Rotate them Wait 2 weeks Contact aquarium coop for a replacement (if you bought them from aquarium coop) Hope this helps! Have fun! -Thomas
  11. I'm no pro betta person but feed them a variety of foods, make sure there is no sharp objects in the aquarium (such as hardscape). Give them plants that they can rest on and make sure that tank mates are compatible with bettas (I don't think you will be adding many tank mates in a 5 gallon though), make sure flow is low, and I would give them areas of shade (floating plants or large leaf plants). I would feed a small amount in the morning and a small amount at night if possible. To reduce stress at plenty of hiding places. I know these are basic tips but they are very important in my experience! Have fun!
  12. I have a finnex stingray 2 and I know it has a moonlight mode. I use the regular mode during the day for my live plants but I'm just curious: Does anybody use this feature for viewing your fish at night? Will it stress them out? Can the moonlight mode on the light harm my plants or grow algae? I WILL ALWAYS TURN THE LIGHTS ALL THE WAY OFF AT NIGHT. I AM JUSY TALKING ABOUT IF I WANT TO LOOK AT THEM AT NIGHT Thanks!
  13. I just ordered an airstone and supplies! Same day delivery!
  14. I got these 3 male guppies about 15 hours ago and they spent most of their time swimming at the top. Is this normal? I have a sponge on the filter output to slow the flow. Should I remove that? SEE VIDEO HERE: https://photos.app.goo.gl/1QUY8qrrF4pxuYMT6 UPDATE! They are now exploring more of the tank! I have an airstone on the way but they seem to be getting better! Also is a PH of around 6.6-6.8 ok? Thanks!
  15. Just normal aquarium gravel with no added nutrients.
  16. Hi! I have a 20 gallon high tank with no fish currently but I plan to get some soonish. I have some live plants as well. Is an air pump beneficial to the plants, water, or fish? Can I hide the air by putting the end into my hang on back filter? Thanks!
  17. Should I add root tabs and easy green right when I put the new plants into my aquarium? Should I make the dose smaller? By how much? Thanks!
  18. Thank you! I just purchased the light! I'll see if it works in my setup!
  19. I am thinking about getting the Finnex Stingray 2 light. I have a 24 inch long aquarium (20 gallon high). I am trying to decide between the 24 inch and the 20 inch light. The 20 inch would fit nicely under the cover for the light I have now (florescent) but I am worried it might be 2 short. The 24 inch might be too long for the clear glass window that the light shines through.
