Have you dosed salt at all yet?  Please add another airstone as well if possible.

Secondly, were you able to adjust temperature in any way at all?

I agree with @Colu that Sulfaplex might be a good one to try next.  Colu, would you dose Ich-X in lieu of the jungle fizz tabs in addition to sulfaplex?  Or would you lean towards suggesting Polyguard (malachite green and other ingredients) for this situation?  The Seachem meds are new to me, but this is very likely a gram negative disease from the looks of it.

I haven't been able to adjust my temperature.  For some reason the little knob at the top of my heater isn't working.  I ordered a new Aquarium Coop heater, and it should be here in a few days.  I also haven't used any salt as of yet.  I've been dreading using it with my plants, but I think I'm just going to have to make the sacrifice of the plants.

As kanaplex and Jungle fungus haven't worked i would use a medication with a different active ingredient  API fungus cure active ingredient is acriflavine and Victoria green and I would add 1 table for 5 gallon of aquarium salt to add some essential electrolytes to give them more energy to fight of the infection

I've looked around online and it seems that the API Fungus Cure is going to be a bit hard to find.  Do you happen to have another suggestion in case I can't find it?

    Thank you again!

  3. I just finished my second round of treatment, and things unfortunately have not improved.  The white patches on the corys seem like they may be a little bit worse, and I've got one Rummy Nose Tetra what has a white patch on it.  Is there any thing else I can do?

Thanks so much for the help so far!

  4. I'm sorry to keep bothering you guys with this problem.  I will be adding the second dose of Kanaplex (2nd Round of Treatment) this evening.  I've been following @Colu's recommended treatment schedule, but the white spots are still there.  I don't feel they've gotten any worse, but not much better either.  If I'm still seeing the white patches after this round of treatment is over, what should I do?

    Thanks so much!

  5. Just giving a little update.  Today is day 4 of treatment, and everyone seems to be doing pretty good.  I have one angel that looks a little stressed but not too bad.  The Corys are still very active, and eating well.  The white patches are still present, but do no seem to be getting worse.  I tested my water today, and it looks like I have 0.25 - 0.5 ppm of ammonia.  I dosed with Fritz Complete, and will do a water change as scheduled tomorrow.

What I would do is a full course of kanaplex and then follow up with a course of kanaplex and Jungle fungus clea

Thankfully  I was able to find Fungus Clear at our local Walmart of all places.  I'm heading to pick it up in a few.

  7. Thank you everyone.  I've lost one more cory as of today.  I went down to the LFS and picked up Kanaplex today, and have added my first dose.  They didn't have any of the Fungus Clear, so it may take a day or two for me to get it.

  8. I seem to have a problem with my Sterbai Corys.  I noticed a few days ago they were developing white patches on them. I'll post the best picture I can.  They are hard little creatures to get to sit still.  I've lost a couple since noticing the patches.  I have one more that's acting like he could go anytime.  The others seem not to be bothered.  They are all still eating and acting normal.  Does anyone have any ideas of what I'm dealing with, and how to go about treating them?  I have a 55 gallon tank with plants, my water parameters are:

    • Ammonia - 0ppm
    • Nitrite - 0ppm
    • Nitrate - 10ppm
    • PH - 6.8
    • Temp - 78 degrees
    • Large Water Change today

    Thanks!!

  9. I am currently setting up a 55 gallon, and am unsure of how many of each fish I should get.  Ideally I would like to have:

    Angelfish (I LOVE angels)

    Harlequin Rasboras

Some species of Corydora (I'm open to suggestions)

I already have a bristlenose Pleco that I'd like to go in there as well if possible.

    Any suggestions are greatly appreciated!

    Thanks!

  10. @PineSong Yes, he’s the bossy one. He grew much quicker than the other and became a bully. Lol

@HH Morant Thank you!  I was thinking of a similar process. I think instead of putting the timid angel in with the others I’m going to move her back to the 29 after the bully is gone. I feel bad for her so I thought she could live in peace with the cardinals.

  11. Hi Everyone! 👋  Last July I purchased a pair of juvenile angelfish and put them in my 29 gallon tank.  They were fine together for several months but one of them began chasing the other and making its life miserable.  I moved the more timid of the 2 out of that tank, and left the aggressor. I have decided to upgrade to a 55 gallon tank, and would like to add more angelfish.  The plan would be to move the more timid angelfish back in to the 29 and moving the larger one to the 55, and then add a couple more juveniles.  If I add the juveniles should I put them in first and let them establish their territories first, and then move the larger fish in, or should I put everyone in at the same time?

** Please excuse my dirty glass **

  12. What is everyone’s favorite HOB filter?  I have a Tidal 35 on my 30 gallon tank, and I’m not super impressed with it. I don’t feel like it keeps the water moving enough to get Some of the waste off the bottom.  I could be crazy though lol.

  13. Does anyone know if different types of Corydoras will school together?  I thought I wanted a school of 8 Orange Venezuelan Corydoras, but I saw some Gold Laser Corys Aquahuna, and now wonder if I can get 4 of each species.  Should I mix the 2 or stick with just one type?

  14. I have just re-set up my 29 gallon aquarium after losing my Betta sorority. My new stocking ideas are a school of Orange Venezuelan Corydoras, a school of Cardinal tetras and a single Angelfish as the centerpiece. My question is how many cardinals and corydoras should I do?  I will also be adding plants. Thanks!!

Edit: I almost forgot I’d also like to add a bushy nose pleco if possible.

I also shop at Aquatic Critter. It is a great lfs. I've been shopping there approximately 20 years. I live 25 miles away in a rural Nashville town.

Its the best I've found so far for sure!  I also live about 25 -30 miles away in the tiny town of Orlinda.  I'll be super impressed if you know where that is LOL.

I would take that sucker outside fill it up and bleach the hell out of it and let it sit full of bleach water for a week....then wash it out and refill and let sit with dechlorinater.  I would not let it beat me!

I've thought about it, and still may.  For now though I'm going to take the opportunity to buy a new tank......don't tell my husband 🤫

  17. I just wanted to give everyone an update.  I lost the last of my betta sorority this morning, and I'm absolutely heartbroken.   I'm going to break this tank down, and throw EVERYTHING away, and start over.  It was only a 30 gallon tank which petco has them super cheap right now, so I would rather get a new one than try to disinfect.  I am going to add a UV sterilizer to the new setup just to cover bases, and make myself feel better.

  18. @umfalcon It's been about a month since I've been.  I was having tank issues, so I couldn't add anything new. I'm hoping to get to go down this weekend though. Unfortunately the last of my betta sorority passed this week, and I'm going to scrap my tank and get a new setup.
