No the tank is a species only with just the breeding pair. The tank is in my bedroom, would the light spook them and cause them to jump I have a fluval nano also I'm going to attempt to find a lid for the rimless. I know it is a odd behavior, and it's frustrating me because I usually have no issues

Hey guys so gotta ask this is upsetting me alot, in my show tank, I keep apistos. I've kept various pairs rare to not so rare. The thing that is upsetting me is that at least one from every pair has jumped out of the tank and died. I don't know whay to do it is a rimless tank without a lid, but I always heard apistos don't jump and my last casualty was my beautiful male inka 50 last night I found him on the carpet in the morning but was doing great eating brine before. My water parameters are always perfect so that would not cause it. And I do weekly water changes. What I want to know should I get a new aquarium that has a lid?

Ok no worries I went to my local fish store and they recommended with how my tank is planted, I go with water lettuce, because it grows fast and easy and also eats everything in the water column so I gave those a try. Still going to test my tap

Also I've heard that mangrove trees are good at removing everything and floating plants is that the case here is a pic of my tank if the two options above I mentioned don't work. What would you reccomend my tank right now is crypts and various rare swords

Hi so I have a question my apistogramma breeding tank, the nitrates won’t go down. I have the aquarium co op test strips, and would say it is around 1 which is obviously not the top but it is not perfect. I’ve done multiple water changes to see if that lowers it and it does not. I was wondering what I should do all the other parameters for my water are perfect. Please help thx

Hey guys so on my apisto tank I have the fluval nano led, I like the light, but don't know how to set the light up, and set thr right parameters up, I have a kasa smart outlet, where it turns on at 830am and shuts off at 530pm, but the light still does not turn on and I have to go manually turn it on in the app Also, what light intensity should I use the tank is all swords and crypts some being rarer than others please help I can't figure it out here is the tank Thank you

Hey y’all so I did find out what the ingredients were I called 1 fish two fish the store that sells the product and the king of diy praises the product they aren’t aloud to use any meds in Canada and he uses it for everything he uses it to Quentin his fish, treat ich heal fins, the main components are garlic, and black Tea. That is why I was going to give this a try, because I’ve always heard all natural works better, I always get nervous with salt, because I’ve overdosed in the past on accident with other tanks. But I can always try salt again I guess

Hey y’all so I got a new pair of apistogramma cacatoides triple red, and from shipping their fins are a little banged up the femal her tail is beat up and the male, his bottom fins the one has a tear they are lively and everything, and eating, I just want to make sure I’m treating the tank with supratect, but also want to ask so their fins heal naturally. If you look at the male his bottom fin you can see where the spiky thing is which I think is the front of his fin. Then the female her bottom of her tail is missing a little bit. thx Stephen

Hey yall so got a question I have a tank in my bedroom and I'm a very light sleeper I've been trying to find a super quiet filter, and I saw the seachem tidal 35. I saw the reviews from kg tropical, prime time aquatics and they both said it was dead silent. So I got the filter today and right away there is a rattle. Now my question is this rattling happening because the filter is breaking in and in a couple days will it get quiet or will it never also is there a fix to quiet it. Just In the few hours it has been running it has quieted a little but not much I really like the filter and all the features, and also I spent 50 bucks on it so would like to make it work so any input would be great. ok yall so I have some bad news, when I was gone over the weekend my heater broke in the tank resulting in shocking my pair of Apistogramma cacatoides. I got a new heater, and now have to get another pair I have decided to get a pair of Apistogramma ortegai pebas heard their pretty new to the hobby and really rare, my question is that they are wild caught from Peru the seller has already quarantined them do you recommend me doing anything and also will the xtreme nano cichlid pellets work. Also the journal that was created for my apisto tank they will be going in that 10 gallon long waterbox species only. Thx yall

Ok thank you the Supratect is what the king of diy uses in Canada, they are not aloud to use fish medicine so his fish store created this all natural plant based medicine, and he swears by it for treating fish, if you look up one of his videos about it, he explains it. So I have one more question with the females tail fin a little tattered, and banged up besides keeping good water quality how long does a fin that is like that generally take just so I have an idea if I have to take additional measures. Also how long does it typically take for them to color up they are still very bland, is it something that since they were shipped it will take them awhile, or is that their full color also don’t know if this changes anything, but they are both very active and eating in the two days of being in the tank.? thx yall
